Track Leagues

Reading Track League 15 April 2013


After a 2012 season heavily disrupted by the weather and the coldest March on record, hopes weren’t high that the new season of Reading Track League would get under way as planned last night at Palmer Park Velodrome. In the event, the youth riders took to the track in glorious late evening sunshine, the predicted showers held off and the temperatures even stayed reasonable until the last couple of events.

Scunthorpe Track League 12th April 2013


Despite Quibell Park looking more like a building site around the track at the moment, the organisers managed to run the firsttScunthorpe Track League of the season.

After a damp start to the day the weather improved for the track to dry out for the evening's racing.

Next week’s league the floodlights will not be available due to the builders isolating the electricity supply. So the racing will be over as soon as the lights fail. The organisers hope to give riders at least 3 races. Racing will start at 7pm prompt.

Wellington Track League – Round 5 2012


Ollie Jones dug deep to produce a terrific sprint at the end of a fast night's racing at round five of the Burkes Cycles Speed League to win the 15-lap all-in Handicap Scratch. Jones just pipped seniors' championship leader Nick Warren on the line.

Wellington Track League – Round 4 2012


Red Rocks Racing used tactics and strength to notch up their first win in the Team Scratch race at round
4 of the Burkes Cycles Speed League at the Wellington Velodrome in Hataitai. Jon Barnes edged Nick Warren (Burkes Cycles) after the duo broke away with two of Barnes' team mates just three laps into the 20 lap race.

Reading Track League 2012 – Round 3 – 30 April


Finding a rare four hour break in the wettest April on record – which had already claimed Round 2 of the 2012 programme – Reading Track League resumed with Round 3 on Monday.

Reading Track League 1 August 2011


The Dernies were out again on Monday night for the latest round of the Senior B Motor Paced Championship. A combination of the reduced programme for the Senior A riders and the start of the holiday season saw numbers down in the As, but there was no lack of determination as they set off after the large B field in the opening Hare and Hounds.
