European Masters Track Championships 2009 – Day 4 – 30 July

Great Britain – boosted, it has to be said, by far greater numbers than the other competing nations – extended its lead at the top of the European Masters Track Championships Medal Table to 5 points over nearest rival France. With a total of 16 Golds and 57 medals in all, the hosts dominate the competition but Germany picked up another Gold today, as did Ireland.

With Great Britain taking five gold medals on Day 3 of the European Masters Track Championships and France two, it was all change at the top of the medals table, with the hosts heading the list for the first time this week. Joining them in the table is Austria, after Wolfgang Kotzmann’s Points Race masterclass in the 40-44 Men’s category.

European Masters Track Championships 2009 – Day 2 – 28 July

The French held on to their slender lead in the overall medals table after 2009 Day 2 of the European Track Championships in Manchester. Their haul of three Golds on the day was matched by Great Britain, who remain second – just one medal back from the competition leaders. Germany and Denmark both doubled their totals to two each.

A great day of racing saw one World Record, two European records and some fantastic match sprinting.

European Masters Track Championships 2009 – Day 1 – 27 July

France led the medals table after the first day of competition at the European Masters Track Championship in Manchester with an impressive five Gold medals. But they didn’t have it all their own way with hosts Great Britain taking four and Germany and Denmark one each.
