British Cycling has today announced the team selected to represent GB in the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Glasgow, Scotland from 16 – 18 November 2012.
The entry list has been published for the National Derny Championships to be held at Scunthorpe on the 6th of June.
News has reached us this morning of the tragic death of British Cycling's Commissaire Facilitator and Officials Education Officer. A respected Commissaire, event organiser and supporter of this website, Rob was above all, a cyclist. He was killed doing what he loved - riding his bike.
The equipment sections of the UCI rule book are long and complex. Realistically, not every rule will be enforced at every event - there just isn't time for every bike every rider to be scrutineered every time they take to the track. So every year the UCI decides not - as some observers seem to believe - to invent new regulations, but to crack down on an existing rule that everyone thought they'd forgotten about. Or that the competitors had forgotten about themselves. We've had 3:1 tube dimensions now we have... non-essential clothing.
British Cycling confirmed this afternoon that, following on from the earlier UCI announcement regarding the backdated suspension of Gregory Baugé, the sport's governing body has been confirmed that Jason Kenny is the 2011 World Sprint Champion.
