UPDATED Amsterdam 6 Days Accident

Following an incident during the first derny race on day two of the Six-Days of Amsterdam, derny pacer Cees Stam spend the night under observation at the VU hospital in Amsterdam. Stam has displayed some positive signs overnight, but his condition overall remains critical. The organisation remains in close contact with the family. Racing will resume this evening with a full program planned. Original statement from the organisers about the accident at the Amsterdam Six-Day The second evening of racing of the Six Days of Amsterdam was abandoned following a serious accident in the first heat of the derny race. Veteran Dutch derny pacer Cees Stam sustained serious injury during a fall in the closing stages of the race. He was attended on site by medical staff and has been transferred to the VU hospital for further assessment and treatment. A number of other pacers and riders were involved in the incident. All are well, although some have minor injuries. The organisation will provide further updates as more information comes available.
