The 2014-15 Revolution Series kicks off next weekend with another bumper three session event at the Lee Valley Velopark. As well as the usual Revolution Elite Series, UCI qualifying and Hoy Bikes Future Stars events, the event will also feature the Senior and Junior British National Madison events and… something rather special…
A bumper programme deserves a star-studded cast and Laura Trott and Marianna Vos top the bill in the Women’s events. The Men’s competition features Revolution stalwart Ed Clancy and Team Sky’s Ben Swift and Ian Stannard – as well as new Orica-GreenEDGE signing Adam Blythe and Commonwealth Time Trial Champion Alex Dowsett. From the world of Six Day racing we have our old favourites Christian Grasmann and Leif Lampater of Maloja Pushbikers (the team formerly known as Rudy Project Racing) and Kenny de Ketele.
Friday evening’s session kicks off with a Varsity Team Pusruit Challenge between Loughborough, Southampton, UCLAN and Glasgow and also features a UCI Keirin competition and the first half of the new format UCI Women’s Omnium – the Scratch, Individual Pursuit and Elimination. And, just in case that’s not enough, it also includes the always-epic British National Madison Championships.

‘Fresh’ from their Keirin competition, the Sprinters have the first half of a UCI Sprint competition on Saturday afternoon, carefully threaded around the British National Boys and Girls Junior Madison finals and the Revolution Flying Lap. And in the middle of all that… the special event – the Marymoor Crawl. What do you mean, you don’t know what the Marymoor Crawl is?

And that’s not all – there’s the 500m Time Trial and the Flying Lap from the Women’s Omnium, a Women’s Sprint Handicap and a UCI Men’s Points race!

In to the third and final session of the weekend and the Men’s Sprint competition concludes – as does the Women’s Omnium with the – potentially – winner takes all Points race. The Hoy Bikes Future Stars have a 6 Lap Dash, a Scratch Race and a Points Race and there’s a UCI Devil – sorry, ‘Elimination’ – and Scratch Race. The Elite Men have the traditional Madison Kilometre Time Trial and the Women have an Australian Pursuit. Which should keep you going!
A few tickets are still available for most sessions from the Revolution Ticket Office.
