The Finale of the 2013-14 Revolution Series kicks off this evening at the newly re-christened Lee Valley VeloPark – better known to most track cycling fans as the London 2012 Olympic Velodrome.
The first competition to be held on the track since the Paralympics 18 month ago, ‘the Pringle’ is a fitting venue for the conclusion of the tenth season of Revolution which has been revitalised through its status as a UCI World Cup qualifying series, with the addition of a parallel Sprint competition and an afternoon session – which has actually seen some of the best racing of the series.
And the innovation continues in the final round with a third session on this evening as the Omnium makes its debut in the Revolution format.
As well as the usual collection of Great Britain World and Olympic Champions – including Joanna Rowsell, Laura Trott, Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker – newly crowned triple World Champion Francois Pervis will take on Olympic Sprint Champion Jason Kenny and the Madison will see Spanish World Champions Albert Torres and David Muntaner take to the boards.
The other innovation is that the two Saturday sessions will be streamed live to a global audience on organiser The FACE Partnership’s YouTube channel and you’ll be able to watch it here.

In the overall Elite Championship, Rudy Project Racing Team have a strong lead but a strong showing from Ed Clancy and Ollie Wood could see them challenge for the overall series win.

HOY Future Stars – Boys
Like Rudy Project, Joe Holt of Team USN looks the likely winner in the HOY Future Stars Boys competition but, as with the Men’s Elite competition it’s mathematically possible to be caught. With the points system in the Future Stars early series leader Joe Truman could catch Holt for Rapha Condor JLT. Realistically, it would take a disaster for Holt for Rouleur’s Tom Rotherham or Sky’s Karly Baillie to challenge for the overall lead – but they will all be vying for the runner’s up spot.

If the HOY Future Stars Boys competition looks done and dusted, nothing could be further from the truth in the Girls competition with Grace Garner of Sky just a point ahead of early leader Sophie Capewell of HMT Sportscover.
Any of the top 4 could be in with a shout with Lucy Shaw of Rudy Project Racing Team just 18 points off the lead and Team USN’s Jessica Roberts just 22 points behind her.
