Another well attended meeting and a good evenings racing among all the various categories.
John McClelland notched up 3 wins in the Senior A group. There was a close finish in the Odds and Evens 10 lap Block Pursuit with the lead changing hands lap by lap until with 3 laps left the Evens held a slight lead, as the last lap started Alex Wise attacked alone from the ‘Odd’ group and as the teams crossed with half a lap remaining he was in with a chance but as the teams crossed their stations McClelland won by around 5 metres.
There were attacks galore in the 10 mile but none gained an advantage and the field was all together with 2 laps left at which point Tom Neale went for broke, built up a useful lead which diminished in the final lap as Mike Broadwith almost reeled him in.
Cameron Howard scored 3 wins in the Senior B group which will see him promoted for next weeks meeting.
In the Under 16 category Archie Wishart was on form winning the Devil and Block Handicap
James Parrish did well in the Under 14 category while Simon Bird was on good form in the 15 strong Under 8/Under 10/Under 12 group. The final 4 lap Handicap saw a close finish with Tom Durkin leading a group of 4 over the line. Handicap marks are adjusted throughout the meeting to enable all the riders to be in with a chance as the group covers a wide age range.
