News has reached us this morning of the tragic death of British Cycling’s Commissaire Facilitator and Officials Education Officer. A respected Commissaire, event organiser and supporter of this website, Rob was above all, a cyclist, killed doing what he loved – riding his bike. Reports suggest he was hit from behind by a car by a teenage driver and our thoughts today are with his wife Jane and his family and friends.
We saw Rob a couple of weeks ago at the Reading Track League Bordeaux-Paris Meeting – his first open track meeting for 7 years – and were looking forward to seeing him regularly at the League this season. He will be sorely missed.
Tributes to Rob are pouring in to his Facebook page and this one from Gordon Skillen is particularly moving.
