A brilliant start to the UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships. First Gold goes to Great Britains Neil Fachie with pilot Barnie Storey. A New World Record of 1.02:217 was set, beating Storey’s record set with Anthony Kappes at the Beijing Olympics.

In the Men’s LC2 4km Pursuit, Jiri Jezek takes gold, but had also set a New World Record in the qualifying earlier in the day with a time of 4:40.899. Roberto Alcaide passed his opponent with over 4 laps to go to claim Bronze. He tried to see whether he could get near his World record set in Aigle, Switzerland in 2006 but gave up with a lap & a half to go.
