Widespread rain in the surrounding areas for most of the day threatened this weeks Track League, however Welwyn track was dry and the warm sunny evening was conducive to fast racing.

Tony Gibb dominated the Senior A events winning the opening 10 lap scratch event. The 10 lap Block Handicap was run at a frantic pace but the scratch group got on level terms with 3 laps to go with Tony Gibb leading out and winning the sprint, he went on to add the Points race.
Rob Minting won the 10 lap Group B scratch race but was then promoted to the A group. Simon Howes showed a return to form in winning the Odds and Evens Block Pursuit while Ian Coles took the Group B Devil.
The closing 10 mile maintained a rapid but steady pace with any breakaway attempts closed down within a few laps. As the field entered the final few laps Tony Gibb took off and opened up a substantial gap leaving the remainder to fight for the minor places. Gibb won in 21-00 with John McClelland and George Olive the 1,2,3.
Alan Trolove extended his lead in the Youth AB series while Joseph Fry now has a commanding lead in the Youth BC events. In the hotly contested and expanding Youth CDE series Abigail Caton made a positive debut taking two of the Handicap events. There were also wins for Tom Durkin and Isabel Scott.
