The ever expanding Senior B group provided a strange series of races – the opening 10 lap scratch race went to form with Anthony Moye outsprinting Tom Boulton for the win while the 10 lap Hare and Hounds saw the 4 Hares take advantage of a leisurely start by the main bunch who caught them within 4 laps to give the Hares a lap lead. Josh Maynard took the victory from Simon Hemmington with Steve Milton third.
The 10 lap Points was a revelation as attack after attack decimated the large field with Anthony Moye taking a well earned win from newcomer Gavin Atkins
Meanwhile a depleted field of Group A riders took advantage of the absence of the ‘big hitters’ and enjoyed some fast and positive racing. Rob Cox doubled his League points total winning the 10 lap scratch the Block Pursuit and the Devil but was pushed hard by Tom Gallacher and Alex Wise.
The 50 riders who got up for the final 10 mile set a rapid but steady pace and the field was whittled down leaving just 9 riders in contention in the closing laps – Anthony Moye finished off his evening in fine style taking 2 primes and winning the final sprint by inches from Tom Gallacher and Alex Wise with the photo finish camera needed to separate them.
Young Abigail Coles was the star of the Youth CDE group making the most of her allowance to win the 3 lap handicap and the 4 lap Handicap Points race and narrowly losing out to William Raymond riding his first track meeting in the combined 4 lap youth handicap
