Sireau breaks 200m World Record – Twice!

-

The French were flying at the Moscow Grand Prix with Gregory Bauge surpassing Theo Bos’ 2006 World Record for the 200m time trial – but still finishing second to team mate Kevin Sireau.

Bos’ record of 9.772 seconds was set in December 2006 at the Moscow UCI World Cup round, also held at the Krylatskoe velodrome in the Russian capital. Bauge set a time of 9.654 seconds, but the younger Frenchman shaved off another 4 thousands to take the new record to 9.650.

Incredibly, the 22-year-old Cofidis rider from Issoudun in central France then smashed his own new record, taking over two tenths of Bos’ old mark with a phenomenal time of 9.572.
