The first major competition since the Rio Olympics sees Great Britain send a young squad to Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines for the European Championships.
Based around a core of riders who saw success in the European Under 23 Championships in Montichiari in the summer, it will provide the first hints as to the shape of the senior squad going forward.
The Men’s Team sprint squad of Carlin, Owens and Truman won Gold in Montichiari – as did the Women’s Team Pursuit squad of Emily Kay, Danni Khan, Manon Lloyd and Emily Nelson.
The women’s endurance squad will also contain two Olympic Gold medalists – Katie Archibald and Eilnor Barker – while Becky James’ sister Rachel and Ellie Richardson will contest the Women’s Sprint events.
The Men’s endurance team consists of Matt Bostock, Kian Emadi, Mark Stewart and Ollie Wood – Steven Burke the sole Olympic Gold medalist.
